Legendary designer Jacques Grange revamped the interiors of the Mark Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 2009, and in 2015 finished putting his spin on the 12,000-square-foot penthouse suite—the largest in the U.S. The bi-level suite contains five bedrooms, six baths, two powder rooms, a conservatory, a library lounge, a dining room, and a rooftop terrace. There’s also a chef’s kitchen and living area which can be transformed into a full-size ballroom.
Mr. Grange designed most of the furnishings specifically for The Mark. “The penthouse is in total synergy with the hotel’s aesthetic on an even grander, majestic scale,” he told AD. “While the space is the ultimate in high-end luxury, it was important for it to feel like a home away from home.”
The Mark turned to BIS BIS and The Un-Gyve Limited Group to produce bespoke furnishings and realize the designer’s vision with precision and refinement.
“The 2,500-square-foot rooftop terrace overlooks Central Park. Hotel amenities include room service by the Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges and around-the-clock access to Bergdorf Goodman. A meal on the terrace with an exclusive menu prepared by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten can also be arranged, as well as in-suite hairstyling by Frédéric Fekkai Salon and a dedicated car service for the duration of stay. From $75,000/night.” THE MARK HOTEL
